The SpatiaLondon Data Club is a new community-driven initiative bringing together researchers working in spatial transcriptomics and spatial biology to discuss common analytical challenges, share experiences, and develop practical solutions.

The first session, High Dimensionality & Complex Data Structure, will explore key analytical challenges arising from the increasing complexity and dimensionality of spatial biology datasets.

The session will focus on:

  • The curse of dimensionality and its impact on clustering and neighbourhood graph construction
  • Joint modelling of gene expression and spatial autocorrelation
  • Trade-offs between PCA/UMAP and spatially aware approaches, including graph-based smoothing

The session will be facilitated by Dr Gopal Krishna R. Dhondalay, Senior Bioinformatician at the Hub for Applied Bioinformatics (HAB), King’s College London.

The session will take place at G.60, Hub for Applied Bioinformatics, King’s College London, Guy’s Campus, with the option to attend online. The event is free to attend.
